Interior Trim Continues

Posted August 4, when Oronet ftp Server came back on line

This week Mary and I decided to go up Thursday morning rather than Friday, so we'd have a better chance of saying hello to Pete and Andrew. Sure enough, they were there busily working on the interior trim. Also, rather than taking our morning walk in Lake Wildwood, we had breakfast, left directly to Nevada City, parked at the start of American Hill Road in central Nevada City and walked to the site. We took the clockwise loop, going out on Old Downieville Road and returning to Nevada City on American Hill. On the way back I took pictures of some interesting happenings behind Maria's and Craig & Jodie's house.

Both Pete and Andrew were still in mass production mode, sawing and milling sections for the interior windows. Pete was hand sanding the milled top trim boards. Sawdust was everywhere and stacks of finish-cut trim were accumulating near their table saw set-ups. They'd also taken time to use some of these to complete interior window trim in the nook and study. By the way, the picture of trim that I thought was perhaps for the base of the cabinets (in my previous report) was really top trim for the windows. What I thought were "feet" were nailing blocks for the top molding.

Pete and/or Andrew have also been working on the footings for the barbeque deck addition. The concrete was fresh, so it was poured before we arrived at 9:35 a.m. My guess is they do this while it's nice and cool in the morning and then go inside where it's still cool to continue work on the window trim.

Fresh concrete was in place around several deck-addition footings.

As we began our walk on American Hill Road back into Nevada City, we passed the newly-cleared driveway to the lot below Craig & Jodie's and Maria's. Pete assumes that the owner bought an easement from Maria to go through her lot just beyond the fence around her landscaping. In the picture below, the fences and home in the background are Maria's.
